Getting your child ready for their first Futbol season can be an exciting and rewarding experience. Here's a checklist and some tips to ensure they have a positive and successful start to their Futbol Journey at our youth programs.
1. Gear UpÂ
Make sure your child has the necessary Futbol gear, including:
Turf or indoor Futbol shoes (no cleats allowed)
Shin guards
Futbol socks
A comfortable and breathable practice uniform
A properly sized Futbol
A water bottle for hydration
Visit the Senda Athletics store for some youth gear here.
2. Physical PreparationÂ
Help your child get into shape by encouraging regular physical activity. Simple exercises like running, jumping, and stretching can improve their fitness and agility.
Consider enrolling them in one of our Private Group Sessions to build endurance and improve their speed and agility.
3. Mental ReadinessÂ
Discuss the upcoming Futbol season with your child to mentally prepare them for practices and games.
Explain the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and following instructions from their coach. Encourage a positive attitude and remind them that the goal is to have fun and learn.
During our season, we have Word of the Week to learn about these important life skills to build well-rounded athletes.
4. Attend a Free Training SessionÂ
Take advantage of a free training session offered by Futbol Fever's youth programs.
This gives your child a chance to get familiar with the environment, meet coaches, and interact with other players. It also helps you assess our program's suitability for your child.
5. Nutrition and HydrationÂ
Ensure your child eats a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains.
Proper nutrition fuels their energy levels and supports overall health. Emphasize the importance of staying hydrated, especially during practices and games.

6. Set Goals

Our Youth Programs measure our young athletes through a series of achievable and age-appropriate goals through our Fundamental Futbol Skills testing twice-a-season.
Setting goals provides motivation and a sense of accomplishment, while allowing our coaches to continue their athletes developmental path in learning the game.
7. Parent-Coach CommunicationÂ
Establish open communication with your child's coach. Share any relevant information about your child's health, preferences, or concerns.
Building a positive relationship with our coaches ensures your child's needs are met and fosters a supportive environment.
We offer personalized feedback with our twice-a-season Parent/Coach Conferences to review our young althetes progress in our Fundamental Futbol Skills Test.
8. Encourage Practice at HomeÂ
Our programs send our young athletes home with simple ball mastery or 1v1 skills after every training sessions to create opportunities for your child to practice Futbol skills at home.
These simple drills can reinforce what they learn in practice and boost their confidence.
